This spring, The Riverdale Children’s Theatre will be celebrating our Legacy Robe tradition with a fundraising concert June 2nd, 2024. It’s an an evening of entertainment to celebrate our kids and raise funds for our programs and scholarships. Providing a first class arts program for families is an ongoing challenge and we need your help. We continue to try and keep our programs affordable and provide scholarships to families in need. Nearly a third of our families receive tuition assistance , and the pandemic has prevented us to operate at capacity for nearly 2 years. Your support and assistance is crucial for our organization to continue to offer quality programming.

RCT 2024 Legacy Robe Honorees!
The Riverdale Children's Theatre will be honoring some very special young people this spring for their commitment to excellence and the Riverdale Children’s Theatre.
At RCT, we believe that each show's success hinges on the commitment and dedication of each and every cast member. It's not easy to get your homework done, study for tests and rehearse for a production. In recognition of all of their hard work, dedication, and for participating in 5 RCT seasons. Since 1950, the Broadway community has practiced the tradition of presenting the Legacy Robe (formerly named “gypsy robe”) on opening night to that production's chorus member with the most Broadway credits. The garment is considered magical and brings with it luck, tradition, and a sense of community. It is passed from show to show, celebrating these singers and dancers who are often the unsung heroes of the stage, and the robe is decorated with show mementos from each person who has received it.
All named performers will be receiving a custom designed RCT "Hoodie" in a nod to the Broadway robe tradition. They will also be performing in a special musical number at the celebration. The RCT “Legacy Hoodie” is just small token of our appreciation for their being part of RCT in such a dedicated way, and hopefully will become a treasured keepsake. Every year we honor our cast members who have reached this milestone in their RCT careers!
